The Affects of Stress on Your Health

by Dr. Bobbie Stevens on August 1, 2011

The vast majority of people in the world today are over stressed.  Are you one of them?

Stress occurs when we are making more demands on our minds and bodies than they can comfortably handle.  There are numerous symptoms that alert us to the fact that we are over stressed.

When we feel overwhelmed, irritable, begin to experience insomnia, restlessness or mood swings, we are experiencing symptoms of an over stressed nervous system.  Every time we have more demands being made on the mind/body system than it can handle it damages the nervous system, and it becomes less and less capable of doing its job.

Stress also damages the immune system.  There are always many opportunities for numerous kinds of illness to take over in our bodies, but if we have a strong healthy immune system and a strong healthy nervous system they cannot take over or affect us.

One of the most important things to understand about stress is that it builds up and gets stored in our nervous system, and in time it will affect our immune system and illness will occur.

The thing that makes this so difficult to understand is that the stress and the illness do not occur in a time frame where we are able to make the connection.  We may experience a hugely stressful event in our lives, or we may be on an everyday kind of stress over a number of years, that stress is stored in the nervous system and then at a time when everything seems to be going great and we are feeling very healthy, illness shows up.

These processes or gradual decline on the nervous system and immune system is a slow process, but turning it around is also a slow process.  We think that we have made changes in our lives and are living a healthier life style, but the affects of the stress shows up when we least expect it.  This makes it very difficult to connect the two.

Once the mind/body system becomes overstressed that process will play itself out unless we discover a way to release the stress.

Many years ago I discovered a process for releasing stress and strengthening the nervous system and the immune system.  It is a simple process of stretching exercises, breathing exercises and meditation.  When this process is practiced on a daily basis it first releases the built up stress then the mind/body system is able to heal itself from the damage caused by the stress.  Once it heals itself it begins to strengthen itself and some truly amazing things happen when the nervous system becomes very strong.

In my book Unlimited Futures: How to Understand the Life You Have and Create the Life You Want I explain the process in detail and provide step-by-step guidelines for experiencing the wonderful changes you will begin to see in your health and every aspect of your life.

I have also created a CD, DVD and a Companion Workbook to help you get started.  In addition our Core Course is now on DVDs so you can experience the entire course right in the comfort of your own home.  And you can download an introductory session of the course absolutely free by simply clicking in the box on the side of this page requesting it.

Once you begin experiencing this amazing growth process you will want to accelerate this experience.  Therefore, we also provide courses that you can attend to accelerate this natural evolutionary process.

Thousands of people have reversed the affects of stress on their health and discovered how to create a much better life for themselves through the use of this simple process.
