We all want to be happy, but where do we find happiness?
Which of the following would make you happy?
1. Meeting Mr. or Ms. Right?
2. Moving to a new city, state, country?
3. Have all the money you need to buy your dream house and that great sports car you have wanted?
The answer is none of the above. We get caught up in believing that someone else can make us happy, but that isn’t possible. So that rules out # 1
I heard an interesting statement from a speaker that pretty well sums it up, he said, “Wherever I go there I am”. This explains why #2 doesn’t work.
If we do not have all the money we want it is easy to believe that having lots of money would make us happy, but I know lots of very wealthy people who are far from happy. Money is nice to have, but it does not make us happy.
All of the above things would probably cause some excitement, but excitement is not happiness. We cannot find happiness in the external world. Happiness is an internal experience and we can only find it within ourselves when we are capable of feeling it.
Our ability to experience happiness is determined by the activity that takes place in our brains and nervous system. Happiness is actually the result of the proper functioning of our endocrine system secreting endorphins like serotonin. Happiness is actually the result of high level wellness.
High level wellness is the result of consciously focusing our attention on our health and developing our potential. In order to do this we must work on all levels simultaneously, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. What is possible for us is far beyond what most of us ever experience.
The stress in our lives blocks our ability to function as well as we are designed to function. Therefore, in order to move into higher levels of functioning we must have a process for releasing the stress that gets built up in our nervous systems.
In addition most of us have all kinds of limiting beliefs which need to be changed. Again the same process that releases the stress refines the energy in the mind/body system and moves us into a much more advanced level of understanding, and the old limiting beliefs go away as we more clearly understand how life really works.
Most of us experience some degree of happiness form time to time, but in order to actually live a healthy, happy, fulfilling life we must develop our ability to function from a higher level of functioning than what most people experience.
Here are some things that you can do to help bring more happiness into your life.
1. Observe your thinking and where you focus your attention.
2. Observe your self talk – Do you tell yourself what a great day it is going to be or do you tell yourself how unpleasant some of the things you believe you have to do will be?
3. Observe your outlook – is it positive or negative? Do you expect good things to happen or do you think about the things that you fear might happen?
Many years ago I discovered a process for releasing stress, strengthening the nervous system, and refining the energy in the entire mind/body system which leads to a much more advanced level of understanding and functioning. The practice of this process on a daily basis leads to high level wellness, which insures happiness, and in time self-actualization.
I have described this process in detail and provided diagrams and step-by-step guidelines in my book entitled Unlimited Futures: How to Understand the Life You Have and Create the Life You Want.
I have also created a CD, DVD and a Companion Workbook to help you get started on the path to creating a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life. In addition, we also now have our Personal Growth and Development Core Course on DVDs so you can experience it in the comfort of your own home. You may download an introduction to the course free by simply clicking in the box on the side of this page requesting it.
Once you start experiencing this growth process, we also provide courses that you can attend to accelerate this natural evolutionary process.
