Personal Growth and Relationships

by Dr. Bobbie Stevens on July 18, 2011

All of our relationships are for our personal growth.  In fact, the reason we are all here is to grow, discover who we are and become masters of life.  Therefore, everything we experience is for our growth.  It is believed that we are born into the family we are in to learn lessons which that experience can teach us.

The idea is to discover the power we each have within ourselves to take charge of our lives and understand how life really works, but we are born into a society that has fixed beliefs and ideas that doesn’t work very well, but no one seems to notice.  As we go through the experiences of our lives we learn that much of what we are taught to believe is simply not true and does not work to create the life we want.  In fact, we are all actually hypnotized by the information and forces around us.  And as we grow we see that the people, who are putting out the propaganda that we are to believe, have a vested interest in our believing it.

The whole idea is to wake up from the hypnotic spell most of us are under.   We are all growing all the time, but for those of us who clearly understand that is what life is all about, we grow much faster.  We are all somewhere along the road to awakening and discovering that everything is governed by laws of nature and we are a part of this natural process.  We begin to discover the power we have within ourselves to be in charge of our lives and create whatever we choose.

This awakening occurs at different times for different people and since we are all connected we help each other through our relationships.  We learn a great deal through each of our relationships, they are all valuable.  But it is important to understand the purpose of each of our relationships, and that is to enhance our own personal growth, and support others in their growth.  Since we grow in different ways and at different speeds it is important to understand that all relationships have a life span.  When any relationship has fulfilled its purpose it is time to release the other people in the relationship to their own growth and move on in our growth.

Since we have been programmed to believe that something is wrong with us or we have failed in some way when a relationship is over, it is hard for us to break free of these beliefs and see that it is a positive, natural occurrence.

When we clearly know that a relationship has filled its purpose and is no longer helping us or the other person or people in the relationship, it is time to terminate the relationship in the kindest way possible.  There is usually a great deal of sadness involved in the process mostly because we have been programmed to believe that all relationships should last forever.  But as we grow we know that is a false belief.

We can out grow any relationship from casual relationships to intimate relationships, friendships and even family relationships.  As we grow, we change and unless the people with whom we are in relationship changes in the same way and at the same speed things become uncomfortable.  We are different, and the other person wants us to be the person we were before, but that is now impossible.  The purpose of the relationship has ended and ending the relationship is just a matter of time if you are to continue your own personal growth.

If we can clearly understand the purpose of life and the purpose of relationships we can know that ending a relationship is not anyone’s fault it is just a perfectly natural occurrence.  It is also important to understand that all endings start new beginnings which can be very freeing and rewarding for all concerned.

Unlimited Futures is all about personal growth and development and many times people ask us if participating in our course will help them save a relationship.  The answer is no, but if both parties participate in the course, whatever is in the best interest of both will occur and it can make a huge difference in the person’s ability to be strong enough to make good choices and experience whatever is appropriate for this situation.

Many years ago I discovered a process that releases stress and strengthens the entire mind/body system thereby moving one into a much more advanced level of functioning and experience.  I have described this process in detail and provided diagrams and step-by-step guidelines in my book entitled Unlimited Futures: How to Understand the Life You Have and Create the Life You Want.

I have also created a CD, DVD, Companion Workbook and put our Core Course on DVDs to help you get started. You may download a free introductory session of our Core Course by simply clicking in the box on the side of this page requesting it.

Once you start experiencing this growth process, we also provide courses that you can attend to accelerate this natural evolutionary process.
