I just read a paper entitled, “Relax your way to perfect health”.  It is about research that is being done on what they are calling the relaxation effect.  What they are calling relaxation is not just lying on the sofa watching TV or even setting in a quiet place thinking.  It is about using what they call relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation on a daily basis.

It is true that most people have never experienced being totally relaxed.  We are so geared to our outward activities that few people take the time to refocus their attention in an inward direction ever.

We know that everything is energy including our minds and bodies and that when the mind/body energy becomes more and more excited or vibrating at faster and faster rates, we become less and less capable of functioning at our best.  We function at our best when we are feeling peaceful and settled.

This high speed functioning creates tremendous stress which damages every aspect of our lives.  We have a tendency to believe that we make progress by moving faster and faster, but the real truth is that we are just spinning our wheels and damaging our health.

We provide courses in the development of human potential where people come and stay with us for awhile to relax and discover what’s possible when we become quiet and focus our attention within ourselves selves rather than in an outer direction.  And we find that it takes a few days before many people are even capable of relaxing.

When people go on in their fast paced lives for years and years it damages the functioning of the entire mind and body, and it shows up in both physical and mental illness like high blood pressure, raised heart rate, poor digestion, weakened immunity, etc., and on the mental level lack of clarity, inability to focus, loss of memory, mistakes, etc.

Dr. Herbert Benson of the Harvard Medical School led a research project that discovered that deep relaxation changes our bodies on a genetic level.  They found that in long term practitioners of relaxation methods like yoga and meditation there were many disease-fighting genes active which was not the case for the control group.   In fact they found that genes that help fight inflammation, kill diseased cells and protect the body from cancer all begin to switch on after only about two months after beginning to practice the relaxation techniques.

Many years ago I started working with a process of yoga exercises, breathing techniques and meditation, and after a period of time my whole life changed.  My energy stated increasing, I begin to feel younger, more confident and my mind became very clear.  I moved into a much more advanced way of functioning.  I discovered that the process that I put together and started practicing on a daily basis, not only improved my health, but it allowed me to discover abilities that lie deep within all us, like intuition, creativity, the ability to see the big picture and the interrelatedness of everything.  These abilities lie dormant within all of us until we discover how to activate them.

Therefore, I have been teaching people how to develop these abilities for twenty something years now, and I am so happy to see that the scientific world is catching up with what some of us have known all along.

We have had thousands of people go through our courses and watched them cure themselves of all kinds of problems, even when medication had failed.  And the exciting thing is that healing is just the beginning.  It is all the things that we discover is possible when we are truly in a state of high level wellness that is exciting.
