Spirituality: The Source of Life

by Dr. Bobbie Stevens on August 3, 2009

We are hearing more and more today about spirituality.  There are organizations promoting spirituality in the work place.  People talk about being on a spiritual path.  What does it all mean?

In the past the term spirituality related to religion, but now more and more people are beginning to know spirituality as something very different from religion.  It obviously relates to spirit or the life force within all of us.  It also relates to the source of life.  I believe it is about a conscious connection with the source of creation.  As we know, everything on the physical level of life is energy being expressed in different forms.  This energy is formed by intelligence, but what is the source of this intelligence and energy?

Most people use the word God to talk about the source of creation.  I do not use the word God because there are so many different interpretations of what or who God is. Since I am writing to communicate I want to be sure we have a similar understanding of the terms used so we are all on the same page.  I use the word Love to talk about the source of creation because love is something that we can all relate to and experience. There are many synonyms for the word God.  Some of these synonyms are Love, Life, Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principal, and Truth.  When we talk about spirituality I believe we are talking about the source of life or the spirit that is our source, consequently, who we are, and our source is found within ourselves.

I believe that when a person says they are on a spiritual path, they mean that they are seeking to understand or know the spirit or source of life.  In the past, I think most of us have looked outside ourselves for the answers to our questions about the source of life and how it works. Now we are beginning to discover that the answers to our questions are right within ourselves.

We, at Unlimited Futures, have discovered a process for releasing the built-up stress in our nervous systems, which strengthens the system and allows us to connect with a higher level of consciousness.  From this higher level of consciousness we are able to understand the principles that govern our lives and experiences, and know ourselves as one with all of creation.

We all want to experience and understand who we are, why we are here and what life is all about.  However, most of us have not evolved to the point of fully understanding this, but there is a process that can help us move in that direction.

I have described this process in my book Unlimited Futures: How to Understand the Life You Have and Create the Live You Want, and provided step-by-step guidelines for how to get started.
