November is the month that we are reminded to give thanks for all of our blessings. Here in the US we celebrate Thanksgivings, a special day that our forefathers created.
It is great to continue that tradition and to remember all the blessings we have received throughout the year. It is not just a holiday but a day when we should all take some time to reflect on all the ways we have been blessed.
When we are feeling grateful and focusing our attention on our blessings the law of attraction goes into action and we attract more blessings.
My husband, Dean, is always talking about his Dad who set a great example for him and his younger brother, Jim.
His Dad was a very successful business man who somehow understood the importance of silence, a balanced life style, the importance of staying focused on his vision and how to turn the tide of events when he was faced with the appearance of an upcoming disaster.
Every day at 4PM he would leave work regardless of what was happening. People would say “you can’t leave now” but he left and went to an office that he built for himself in his back yard in the winter and out on his boat just floating around in the lake in the summer. In his special office he had a desk, a comfortable chair and a bed. It was understood that no one would ever bothered him when he was there. It was his quite time. He stayed there from 4PM to 7PM every day then at 7PM he would show up for the family dinner. He understood the importance of this time alone and it was non-negotiable.
When his accountants or attorneys would try to get him to focus his attention on the problems that could arise, he would say “you take care of it; I have to keep my attention on my vision”.
But when he was faced with what seemed like a very huge challenge he would not focus his attention on it, he would just get in his car role down the windows and drive through the countryside and sing to the top of his voice. The one song he would sing is “Count your many blessings – name them one by one”.
Many times he would bring Dean and his brother, Jim, with him and they would all sing to the top of their voices the same song.
Dean recalls that over and over again he would witness circumstances and events that would almost miraculously appear to heal the situation.
Not only was it an inspiration for Dean but he has used it to inspire many others since. It is a good lesson for all of us.
So, if you are facing scary things in your life I would highly recommend that you try this process. Additional verses in this song are “When your life seems empty, it is so untrue; there is a mighty presence making all things new.
